Thank you to all who attended the take-down workshop this Sunday that I helped to teach, along with Shawn and Uday. Shawn is going to take the proceeds to buy a crash-pad. That will be fun for practicing throws and flying attacks!
As many of you already know I will be leaving the L.A area this week. I am relocating to Pennsylvania for several reasons including urgent issues at my father's business. Of course I will miss Los Angeles and I will miss even more The HBJJ Family. I plan on staying in touch and coming to visit whenever I can.
Although I was able to get to know some of you more than others, I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone for letting me have the honor of being your jiu jitsu teacher while I was here. Thanks you to all my training partners who helped my jiu jitsu grow. Thank you to all of you who extended hospitality to me while I was in Los Angeles. I have to include Sean Flanery at the head of this group. Thank you for the hospitality, and also, for beating me up on the mat. You elevated my game. Please stay in touch, all of you!
I would like to say a special thank you to Shawn Williams who taught me so much over the last year (and previous years). I have been around many great wrestling technician and jiu jitsu professors over the years. Shawn is special. Please take it from me that HBJJ is very lucky to have him as a teacher. I feel great-full that he shared some of his knowledge with me. I hope that we continue our student-teacher relationship in the future.
I have been involved in jiu jitsu and grappling all my life because I love it. I will continue to train and teach until I'm too old (maybe 97? Helio is still going at 95yrs). It is a unique activity that has given me friends and experiences I could get nowhere else. Keep training everyone. See you soon!
