The Williams guard looks similar to Eddie Bravo's "London", and Eddie shows in this clip why he no longer includes it in the precious 10th planet system. I am not a fan of Bravo's BTW. I am sure Williams guard is not this easy to pass.. Can someone point out maybe a flaw in Bravo's technique that would keep the guy from passing? www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaVklKMW3aw

I'm no expert on the Williams guard but in the video Eddie's leg is over the guy's shoulders, rather than pinching down along his opponent's ribs. Also the other dude's hand isn't stuck to the mat. If your hand is stuck on the mat and you have to go through someone's leg, I think it's more of a challenge to get around. Just a casual observation...

This morning Shawn showed exactly what to do when the guy tries to jump over the williams guard.
I won't try to describe it here due to the fear of getting it completely wrong, but I reccomend you ask one of the instructors.

It's difficult to explain, but if he jumps over, you keep your knees close to your body and point them in the opposite direction he's jumping, he'll land in an armlock. Secondly, from personal experience, if you keep your grip real tight, when he jumps over his arm is trapped and he can't base with it, setting up a nice sweep.
